Ifueko Oviasu

Born to Professor Emeritus Victor Oviasu(Founding Prof of the Department of Medicine, UBTH and of Blessed memory) and Janet Omojola, a retired Nurse,Ifueko is the seventh of eight children. She is a Legal Practitioner by profession, holding an LL.B from the University of Benin and a B.L from the Nigerian Law School. Her journey in gospel music started in her preteens as a young convert in the Christian faith and was strengthened in her teenage years as a youngster not allowed to go out due to strict upbringing. Her major preoccupation at home was music provided by her immediate older siblings and mother who was working in the UK at the time she is a self taught part communicator, thus attributing to her ability to train choirs today. In her University days, she was active from her first to final year in the BLW choir under the tutelage of Pastor Uvie Mafuru(PU),a Loveworld All Star for the first two years. She is an ex banker and heads TM Cuisine in Abuja,a culinary enterprise birthed from her passion for cooking. In 2012,she auditioned for Destiny Child Gospel Music Talent Hunt Season 1 and emerged Abuja top four. She proceeded to DC City in Lagos for the main contest where she was the female captain and emerged top 12 out of 16 contestants. Her debut single, "Jesus At Your Name" was birthed from a troubled state of mind after her morning workout. In her words,"I had a lot on my mind that I couldn't shake off. As i climbed the stairs up to my brother's apartment, I stopped and sat down to pray. The next thing,I was singing the song. I quickly put on my phone recorder. When I got to the studio to record another worship song,Jesus At Your Name was meant to be an addendum to create a medley, but Samsong, the CEO of Boogiedown Records  and the Producer, GID opened my eyes to the power in the simple chorus. I created a short bridge on the spot and that was it......" She is an ex Choir Director of Christ Embassy, Garki Area 3 and presently a committed choir member. The most profound influence in her life after our Lord Jesus is Pastor Chris Oyakhilome PHD. In her words, "He is my Pastor,Mentor,Life Coach,Inspiration and Spiritual Father. I don't know how I would have gone through life without exposure to his teachings".Her musical mentors remain Yolanda Adams,Shirley Caesar and Vickie Winans. She is close to Dr Panam Percy Paul, Samsong, Lara George, Joe Praise, Obi Shine and the Prince of the Niger Delta, Asu Ekiye, in whose Abuja band, she serves a tenor back up singer and lead soloist. Her deepest heart desire is that the song "Jesus At Your Name",will remind everyone out there that no problem is beyond the power in the Name above all names,Jesus. In her words,"As long as that problem has a name,it has an end".
